Nicole Harris & Brandon Everhart: Seniors

A co-worker of mine mentioned to me that she has two kids graduating high school this year. One is a biological daughter, the other is her stepson. She knew I took photos and asked if I would be interested in taking some photos of her kids. I naturally said "of course!" I photographed my co-worker and her family a few years ago as a present for her husband's parents (pictured right).

My co-worker wanted to take Nicole and Brandon's photos together, so we headed on over to Washington Townshp Park one Sunday. I hadn't been to this park in probably 20 years. I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and photogenic this park actually was. From trees, to structures, to tall grass and water features. It was the perfect place to photograph these two Seniors.

To start, we have Nicole. Nicole is a very fun, enthusiastic young lady. You could tell she had been thinking about this shoot for weeks. She even sent me some pose ideas a couple weeks before the shoot, so she knew what she wanted and what to do. She was willing to take some more adventurous poses as well as find some more interesting locations. The location she was dying to be photographed in from the beginning was on railroad tracks. We hadn't planned to take any photos on any railroad tracks, but lucked out and managed to find some nearby. I could tell this made Nicole's shoot go from good to perfect! So glad we could find those tracks. Nicole is also into Volleyball, so we took some shots on the park's sand Volleyball court. She's my first Senior to use sports items in her photos which was fun and turned out well!

In the midst of all the photos we took of Nicole, Brandon had his own photo shoot. I wanted to make sure not to take too many photos of Nicole and Brandon with the same backgrounds. I wanted them each to have a unique shoot and even though it was combined, I think we succeeded. For not having thought about his shoot as much as Nicole, Brandon did really well. He posed naturally and didn't complain at all!

All-in-all the combined shoot went very smoothly. It was a pleasure capturing photos of these two in their Senior year. I wish them the best as they embark on the next stages of their lives.
